Job summary

Detroit Prep in Detroit, MI seeks a K-2 Assistant and Substitute to partner with kindergarten through 2nd grade teachers. The role runs 7:45am–4:00pm and covers clerical tasks, behavior support, and academic interventions, with substitution coverage when lead teachers are absent.

You will collaborate with the Director of Primary and elementary leaders to help create an equitable, student-centered learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers with clerical tasks and classroom preparation.
• Provide behavior support and assist with academic interventions.
• Perform operational duties to support school routines and logistics.
• Provide substitute teaching coverage when lead teachers are absent.
• Take direction from classroom teachers, the Director of Primary, and Head of School as needs arise.
