Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Experience in childcare, education, recreation, youth programming, or related field preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with young children.
• Ability to manage a group of students in a safe and structured environment.
• Dependable, energetic and positive.
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Must successfully complete all required school background checks and training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the daily operation of the Little Gryphons K–2 after school program.
• Provide a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for all students.
• Develop and implement daily activities developmentally appropriate for K–2.
• Plan a balance of structured activities, creative play, physical activity, enrichment, and supervised free-time.
• Establish consistent routines, expectations, and procedures.
• Build positive relationships with students and foster belonging.
• Supervise students during the program, including transitions, snack time, and dismissal.
• Communicate with families about participation and concerns.
• Coordinate and supervise Little Gryphons staff and assist with scheduling and assignments.
• Provide direction to program staff to ensure consistent supervision.
• Maintain attendance and dismissal records.
• Communicate with Activities/Athletic Director and school staff regarding operations.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and the environment is welcoming.
