Job summary

Manassas Park City Schools seeks an Instructional Assistant – Adaptive Special Education Curriculum to support students with special needs. Under a certified teacher, you will help implement plans, monitor progress, and foster an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with instructional activities, small group support, and maintaining materials. Requires a high school diploma and strong interpersonal skills; prior group-work experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required for the role.
• Experience working with groups of children is preferred.
• Ability to work with students at different ability levels.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions for instructional/behavioral plans.
• Assist teachers with instructional activities and classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Complies with all laws, policies, and regulations governing the school system.
• Regularly confer with teachers to evaluate student progress and IE objectives.
• Implement instruction and behavioral plans for individual or small groups.
• Support students with daily personal care tasks and maintain student dignity.
• Instructs students in core areas under the supervision of the special education teacher.
• Maintain instructional materials and student files; assist with clerical duties.
