BlazerJobs is seeking an Itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired to support students across Goose Creek-area schools in a full-time role. The position requires a SC VI endorsement and proven K–12 experience, with travel between multiple sites to deliver direct instruction and services.

The role emphasizes collaboration with families and school staff, implementing IEPs, and using assistive tech to enhance access to learning materials.

Qualifications

• Valid South Carolina teaching certificate with VI endorsement.
• Proven experience delivering academic and functional vision services to K–12 students.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with students, staff and families.
• Ability to adapt instructional materials and methods for diverse caseloads.
• Familiarity with educational technology and assistive devices for low vision/blind learners.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct instruction tailored to students with VI, individually and in groups.
• Assess functional vision and learning needs; develop IEPs.
• Consult with general education staff, admins and families to improve curriculum access.
• Recommend and implement adaptive tools and strategies for independence.
• Travel between multiple schools to provide on-site support and services.
• Maintain records and contribute to IEP meetings and compliance documentation.
