Job summary

Springfield Public Schools seeks a Title IX Coordinator to oversee compliance with Title IX and related laws across the district. The role leads investigations, manages grievance procedures, and coordinates with staff to ensure an inclusive, safe school environment.

The position requires legal training and substantial experience in regulatory compliance and education. Collaboration with district leadership and external partners is essential for policy implementation and improvement.

Qualifications

• J.D. strongly preferred; Bachelor’s degree required in law, public policy, human resources, education, or related field.
• Current or former admission to a state bar in good standing preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years in legal practice, compliance, civil rights enforcement, or investigations in school/ workplace settings.
• Experience interpreting federal and state civil rights laws, especially Title IX.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Title IX compliance district-wide and align policies with laws.
• Receive, review, and investigate reports of sex-based discrimination and harassment.
• Manage grievance processes and coordinate supportive measures.
• Develop and deliver Title IX training for staff and administrators.
• Collaborate with principals, HR, counseling, legal counsel, and external agencies.
• Prepare reports for district leadership and regulatory agencies.
