Advanced Behavioral Health, Inc. is seeking Therapeutic Mentors to support K–12 students in Carroll County Public Schools, focusing on reducing school refusal and promoting consistent attendance.

Role involves skill-building activities, group sessions, and linking families to community resources. Requires degree in social work/psychology or related field and CPR/First Aid certs; full-time role in Maryland with benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or health-related field or 30 credit hours toward bachelor's.
• 1 year of work experience in a supervised mental health setting preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required and maintained.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized coaching and skills-based support to students in K–12 to reduce school refusal and improve attendance.
• Facilitate structured group sessions promoting social-emotional growth and coping strategies.
• Maintain regular communication with students, families, and treatment team to reinforce goals and continuity of care.
• Collaborate with STARS Program Therapists, program director, and stakeholders to align services with treatment plans.
• Implement activities from treatment plans focused on early intervention to address absenteeism root causes.
• Link students and families to school and community resources to support attendance and wellbeing.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Psychology or health-related field

1 year of supervised mental health work experience
