Job summary

Advanced Behavioral Health, Inc. in Carroll County, Maryland seeks Therapeutic Mentors to support K-12 students in the STARS program, focusing on reducing school refusal and promoting attendance. You will deliver skill-building activities, facilitate groups, and link families to community resources.

Full-time, W-2 role with annual salary $50,000-$60,000. Requires a bachelor’s degree (or 30 credits) in a health-related field, EMR and MS Office proficiency, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 30 credits in a health-related field.
• Experience with troubled youth preferred.
• Proficient in EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized coaching and skills-based support to students in K–12 to reduce school refusal and improve attendance.
• Facilitate structured group sessions promoting social-emotional growth and coping strategies.
• Maintain regular communication with students, families, and treatment team to reinforce goals and continuity of care.
• Collaborate with STARS Therapists and program staff to coordinate services.
• Implement activities from individualized treatment plans with trauma-informed approaches.
• Link students and families to school and community resources to address attendance barriers.
