Job summary

Alexandria City Public Schools is seeking a Technology Integration Specialist (TIS) to support effective technology use in K-12 instruction. The TIS will design and deliver professional learning, coach staff, and model instructional technology strategies aligned with ACPS plans.

The 11-month, licensed position reports to the Director of Instructional Technology in Central Office - Technology Services. Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred; Virginia teaching license with technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
• Valid Virginia Department of Education teaching license; technology endorsement preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience teaching in a K-12 classroom.
• Experience designing and leading professional learning for adult learners.
• Experience supporting teachers in integrating technology and AI in instruction.

Responsibilities

• Builds positive relationships to support professional growth in technology integration.
• Designs, delivers, and evaluates professional learning with practical tech and AI strategies.
• Coaches and mentors staff through co-teaching, modeling, and feedback for instruction.
• Supports educators in embedding digital citizenship and data privacy practices.
• Collaborates with principals and instructional coaches to implement technology use.
• Contributes to planning and evaluation of the ACPS Technology Plan and staff development.
• Coordinates division-wide professional learning initiatives and new teacher support.
• Participates in selection, review, and rollout of instructional software and digital resources.
• Serves as a resource in school meetings and cross-department collaboration.
• Provides input for reports and evaluations on instructional technology and learning.

Education

Bachelor's degree in related field

Master's degree preferred

3+ years K-12 teaching experience

Experience designing professional learning
