Job summary
Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher to deliver comprehensive services to students from kindergarten through grade 12. The role emphasizes collaboration with the Special Education Program Administrator and general education staff in planning and implementing individual programs.
The candidate should meet state certification requirements and bring a commitment to providing quality educational support within a team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations.
- Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred.
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred.
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred.
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred.
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
- Current CPR if applicable.
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality services to special education students from kindergarten through grade 12.
- Participate in planning and implementation of student programs with general education staff.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff on special instruction and tutorial assistance.
