Responsibilities

• Deliver specially designed instruction aligned with each student's IEP goals.

• Participate in IEP, 504, and Child Study Team meetings; develop and review annual goals.
• Coordinate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related service providers.
• Maintain documentation, progress notes, and compliance records per MDE standards.
• Communicate regularly with families on student progress and home support strategies.
• Provide accommodations and modifications for assessments as outlined in each student's IEP.

Location: Frontier International Academy- Warren, MI

FLSA Status: Exempt | Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY

The Special Education Teacher provides individualized instruction and support for students with mild to moderate disabilities, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to implement IEPs and promote inclusive education.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a special education endorsement as required by the Michigan State Board of Education
• Candidates who do not yet hold a Michigan teaching certificate may qualify through enrollment in GEE's Career Advancement Program (CAP), which provides a supported pathway to Michigan certification. CAP eligibility is determined at the time of application.
• Satisfactory criminal background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
