Job summary

Capitol Region Education Council's Polaris Center in East Hartford seeks a Long-Term Substitute Certified School Social Worker. The role involves diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning and providing therapy to students in a clinical school setting serving K–12 with social-emotional needs.

The candidate must hold a Master’s in Social Work and CT certification (071), with at least two years’ experience in educational or clinical settings working with behavior-disordered youth.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work and CT certification 071 as a School Social Worker.
• At least two years of experience with behavior-disordered children/adolescents.
• MSW eligibility for CT MSW educator license (071) may apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic evaluations and design comprehensive treatment plans.
• Provide individual and group therapy and crisis intervention.
• Conduct case management and prepare PPT reports for meetings.
• Liaise with DCF, courts, probation, parole and community providers.
• Review IEP goals with a multidisciplinary team.
