Job summary

Dawson School in Colorado seeks a School Nurse to provide comprehensive health services, identify student health needs, administer medications, and collaborate with families and staff to support learning.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN and an active Colorado RN license, with a School Nurse endorsement preferred. Experience with IHPs/504 plans, emergency care, health documentation, and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current, unrestricted Colorado RN license.
• Current or eligible CDE School Nurse endorsement.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Experience with pediatric, school, or public health nursing preferable.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing assessment, care, and support to students across the K–12 program.
• Identify and respond to acute and chronic health conditions, injuries, and illnesses.
• Develop and implement individualized health care plans (IHPs) and 504 accommodation plans as appropriate.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and school policy.
• Collaborate with families, faculty, administrators, and healthcare providers to support student health and learning.
