Job summary

Effective School Solutions is hiring a Mental Health Technician/Clinician to deliver school-based behavioral health services. You will collaborate with ESS clinicians to support students’ mental health, monitor progress, and help implement individualized care plans within public schools.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of experience in school or clinical settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a school or clinical setting supporting student behavioral health.
• Experience working with students, families, and community-based mental health or social service agencies.
• Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic therapeutic interventions and counseling techniques.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student populations.
• Demonstrated commitment to improving access to behavioral health services in schools.

Responsibilities

• Support students' mental health and overall well-being in collaboration with ESS clinicians.
• Monitor and track student progress; provide timely updates to the interdisciplinary team.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and reinforcing individualized care plans.
• Co-facilitate group interventions and student support sessions under clinician guidance.
• Support therapeutic milieu management (scheduling sessions, passes, lunch support, skill building, escorts).
• Provide in-classroom support through observation and targeted interventions.
• Collect and track student data; assist in developing Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Respond to crisis situations; coordinate with clinicians, school staff, and parents as directed.
• Collaborate with families and external providers to strengthen student support systems.
• Assist with case management tasks, including referrals and connecting families to community resources.
