Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Proposal Writer to manage the RFP process for the K-12 market. You will coordinate with sales, marketing, and product to craft high-quality proposals aligned with client needs and evaluation criteria.

You will contribute to a content library, audit messaging and branding, and streamline templates and processes to improve efficiency. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to win and scale proposals.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in proposal management with sales support or writing.
• BA/BS in writing, communications, marketing, or related field.
• Ability to mentor teammates and coordinate proposal efforts under tight deadlines.
• Proven success in developing, implementing, and evaluating proposals balancing user needs with business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of the RFP process from start to finish, including vetting, strategy calls, content collaboration, editing, and proposal preparation.
• Analyze RFP bid to determine compliant response structure and format.
• Generate detailed response plans, schedules, and technical elements in development of proposals.
• Delegate tasks to team members as appropriate.
• Partner with Sales to differentiate proposals and secure a winning first impression.
• Identify gaps and propose improvements to processes, templates, and systems.
• Track, evaluate, and improve responses based on feedback and market research.
• Complete other duties as assigned to meet company goals.
