Cengage Group is seeking a Proposal Writer to manage the RFP process for our K-12 learning market, coordinating with sales, marketing, and product teams to develop timely, high-quality proposals. You will ensure alignment with client needs and Cengage branding.

You will analyze bids, craft response plans, and maintain a resource library to streamline templates and processes. Strong writing and project-management skills are essential for success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in proposal management or sales-support writing.
• BA/BS in writing, communications, marketing or related field.
• Mentor a team and coordinate proposal efforts under tight deadlines.
• Experience balancing user needs with business requirements in proposals.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive results.
• Proficient with MS Office and Adobe Suite.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of the RFP process from start to finish, including vetting, strategy calls, content collaboration, editing, and proposal preparation.
• Analyze RFP bid to determine compliant response structure and format.
• Generate detailed response plans, schedules, and technical elements for proposals.
• Delegate tasks to team members as appropriate.
• Collaborate with Sales to differentiate proposals and win first impressions.
• Identify gaps in the RFP response model and propose improvements.
• Track and improve responses based on feedback and market research.
• Complete other duties to meet company goals.
