Job summary

Sylvania in the United States is seeking a dedicated special education program coordinator to develop, coordinate, and facilitate district programs that promote excellence across curricula and related areas.

Qualifications

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree with a valid Special Education certification.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience with students who have autism and/or emotional/behavioral disabilities.
  • Experience developing and implementing behavior support plans and interventions based on positive, non-aversive approaches.
  • Experience with verbal behavior programming and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Responsibilities

  • Provide training, coaching, and technical assistance to K-12 special education staff, component district staff, and parents.
  • Assist in development and monitoring of individualized student programs and behavior support plans.
  • Conduct student observations to inform curricular recommendations and modifications.
  • Conduct observations to assist with behavior plans, assess implementation, and provide feedback.
  • Provide and demonstrate instructional and behavioral support techniques.
  • Regularly review and analyze data to inform IEP team decision-making.
  • Consult with teams on student programming, interventions, accommodations, and modifications.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary and IEP meetings to determine appropriate Individual Education Programs.
  • Attend Special Education and other staff meetings as requested.
  • Assist in coordinating programs and services within school districts and with external agencies as needed.
