Job summary

Cengage Group seeks a Proposal Writer to manage the RFP process for K-12 markets, coordinating with sales, marketing and product to develop high-quality proposals. You will ensure timely, compliant submissions that reflect Cengage's messaging and branding.

You will contribute to building a content library, audit resources, and streamline templates and workflows, while supporting efficient bid responses across teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in proposal management with sales support or writing.
• BA/BS in writing, communications, marketing, or related field.
• Ability to mentor a team and coordinate proposal efforts under tight deadlines.
• Proven track record developing, implementing, and evaluating proposals aligning user needs with business requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to influence stakeholders and drive results.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of the RFP process from start to finish: vetting, strategy calls, content collaboration, editing, and proposal prep.
• Analyze RFP bid to determine compliant response structure and format.
• Generate detailed response plans, schedules, and technical elements for proposals.
• Delegate tasks to team members as appropriate.
• Partner with Sales to craft innovative approaches and deliverables to differentiate proposals.
• Identify gaps in the RFP response model and propose improvements with internal partners.
• Track, evaluate, and improve RFP responses based on feedback and market research.
• Complete other duties as assigned to meet company goals.
