Young World Physical Education is seeking a dedicated K-12 School Counselor for the Flexible Learning Network serving City View High School and FSVA in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The counselor will provide a comprehensive counseling program, support academic planning, college and career readiness, and coordination of 504 accommodations and data-driven interventions.

Qualifications

• Credentials: MA in School Counseling - Required
• Valid Iowa School Counselor License (K-8 and/or 5-12 endorsements) - Required
• Valid Iowa Teaching License - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual and in-person counseling, academic planning, and graduation support.
• Monitor student engagement, attendance, and course completion; identify barriers.
• Develop intervention plans for students at risk and support transitions between learning modalities.
• Deliver counseling core curriculum and small-group sessions for academic, career, and social-emotional development.
• Assist with individual student planning, including postsecondary advisement and goal setting.
• Coordinate 504 processes and accommodations across programs.
• Collaborate with families, staff, and community partners to promote student success.
