Job summary

Pearson, a leader in educational assessments, is seeking a Specialist, Content Specialist (English Language Learners) to help develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients across the United States. You will serve as a content and assessment expert within the Content Development Services team.

Responsibilities include creating and reviewing test items (language proficiency-based tasks, MCQs, technology-enhanced items, and simulations), developing specifications and blueprints,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent; bilingual/ESL experience preferred.
  • Five years of teaching experience in English language acquisition preferred.
  • Knowledge of language acquisition and educational trends.
  • Experience with large-scale assessments and test development processes.
  • Ability to work with AI-powered content tools and adapt to new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review content-specific test items (language proficiency tasks, multiple choice, technology-enhanced, extended response, and simulations).
  • Help develop item specifications, test blueprints, and linguistic accommodations.
  • Collaborate with team members to leverage AI-powered tools and provide content feedback.
  • Select, train, and manage item writers and educators to develop items per standards and best practices.
  • Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
  • Support test construction and review of composed test forms.
  • Consult with customers and participate in planning and reviews.
  • Collaborate with Pearson groups and stay updated on emerging technologies.
  • Travel as required.
