Job summary

Pearson is seeking an Advanced Specialist, Content Implementation to lead end-to-end item and test development for large-scale K-12 statewide programs. You will guide content development, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure quality across paper and online modalities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years in educational testing and assessment, including client-facing work and cross-functional leadership.
• Experience in item and test development for statewide K-12 assessments; paper and online modalities.
• Knowledge of psychometric principles relevant to development.
• Experience with statewide assessments; classroom teaching experience valued.
• Proficiency with project and financial planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Adaptability with enterprise systems and tools; travel throughout the year.
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development for educational assessments, including prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new AI tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on assessment design and content development for statewide assessments, including summative and interim types.
• Serve as a primary client-facing content development lead and educator committee liaison.
• Translate standards and blueprints into actionable item and test specifications; secure client approvals and documentation.
• Partner with Psychometrics on blueprint setup, test construction, data reviews, and standard setting inputs.
• Configure item bank metadata and test maps; oversee form assembly for paper and online administrations.
• Create, monitor and update labor and non-salary forecasts; participate in finance reconciliation meetings.
• Lead scope discussions with content development vendors; initiate SOWs and coordinate escalations.
• Maintain content development schedules; manage change control and document updates.
• Identify and log project risks; develop mitigation and contingency plans.
• Create and execute communication plans; manage customer milestone reviews and satisfaction measures.
• Coordinate staffing with Content leadership; coach team members and vendor partners.
• Lead AI strategy; integrate AI assets into workflows with provenance and approvals.
