Job summary

Yuma Elementary School District ONE is seeking a Cafeteria Assistant to support daily food service operations at an assigned school kitchen. The role involves preparing and serving meals to students and staff, maintaining sanitary conditions, and assisting the Cafeteria Manager with daily tasks.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, a Food Handlers Health Card, and background clearance. Work hours are 6.5 per day with a starting salary range of $15.15 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Attends unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for information required to perform job functions.
• Cleans utensils, equipment, and storage, food preparation and serving areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Collects payments for food items from students and staff for transactions and funds.
• Prepares and serves food for all services to meet nutritional requirements.
• Inspects items for quantity, quality and adherence to health standards.
• Inventories food, condiments and supplies to meet menu requirements.
• Maintains equipment and reports malfunctions to supervisor.
• Monitors kitchen and cafeteria areas for safe, sanitary environment.
• Orders food/non-food items to maintain inventory within budget guidelines.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure smooth operations.
