Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in special education (preferred)
• Experience working in an urban setting, preferred
• Experience with diverse student populations, preferred
• Knowledge of special education law as it relates to IEP and FAPE
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply student performance data to instructional planning and execution

Responsibilities

• Assist special education students with specially designed instruction to access same education opportunities
• Participate in pre-referral process of special education
• Prepare IEPs
• Collaborate with related service providers
• Collaborate with team on curriculum and student needs
• Assess educational needs using standardized tools and progress data
