Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Collegiate coaching and/or athletic experience preferred.
• Proven recruiting ability.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to academic excellence and student-athlete success.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with leadership, organization, and administration of Track & Field.
• Coach and mentor student-athletes in skills, training, and competition preparation.
• Serve as the primary JV coach while supporting varsity athletes.
• Recruit and retain high-achieving student-athletes with strong academics and athletics.
• Support team GPA targets and academic success goals.
• Develop practice plans, training programs, and competitive schedules.
• Promote student-athlete health and safety with athletic training staff.
• Assist with budgeting, fundraising, and community engagement.
• Represent Mount Mercy University professionally at events.
• Ensure compliance with university, conference, and NAIA rules.
