Position: Field Hockey Coach

Job Description

The Athletic Coach will be responsible for recruiting players, verifying eligibility, and monitoring and verifying completion of required documentation and physical readiness requirements for student athletes. The coach will build a competitive team by conducting practices to develop physical stamina and teaching strategies to maximize player performance for a successful season.

Performance Responsibilities

• Recruit student athletes, promoting an inclusive team representing our students.
• Communicate all conditions for eligibility.
• Conduct fair try-outs to assemble a team.
• Ensure all players complete necessary paperwork and trainings prior to participation.
• Coordinate practices and facility usage with the Athletic Director.
• Maintain records related to uniforms and equipment.
• Communicate schedules and practice times to athletes and families.
• Train staff and athletes on sportsmanship and communicate with officials.
• Monitor attendance and conduct during transportation to and from activities.
• Encourage student athletes to represent their school positively.
• Attend Athletic Director meetings, parent meetings, and team events as required.

Required Qualifications

• Experience coaching and supervising student athletes.
• Ability to complete MIAA documentation and required training.

The Superintendent may waive qualifications or accept alternatives, sharing such decisions with the Fall River School Committee.

Reporting and Supervision

Reports To: Athletic Director and School Principal

Supervises: Coaching staff, assistants, and student athletes

Salary and Terms

In accordance with the Fall River Educators' Association contract. Employment depends on performance, program needs, and funding.
