Job summary

The York County School Division is seeking an Assistant/JV Coach - Athletics for York High School. The role supports the head coach in organizing the program, conducting practices, and motivating student-athletes in game strategies and techniques.

Qualifications

• Prior successful coaching experience at the secondary level preferred
• Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle details accurately.
• Ability to work effectively and maintain composure under pressure.
• Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.

Responsibilities

• Assists the head coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the designated sport.
• Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the head coach.
• Assesses player's skills, monitors players during competition and practice, and keeps the head coach informed of the athletic performance of students.
• Develops fundamental skills needed for player growth.
• Assists with determining game strategy.
• Assists the head coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition.
