Groves Learning Organization is seeking a Junior Varsity Basketball Coach in St. Louis Park, MN for a part-time, seasonal role.

The coach will develop a competitive program emphasizing athletic excellence, teamwork, and personal growth, while teaching fundamentals and game strategy. The ideal candidate has basketball coaching experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to student development both on and off the court.

Qualifications

• Previous basketball coaching experience preferred.
• CPR, AED, First Aid and concussion training required or obtainable before season.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the basketball program.
• Develop and implement practice plans for individual and team growth.
• Establish expectations for conduct, academics, attendance, and sportsmanship.
• Build a positive, inclusive team culture reflecting school values.
• Teach fundamentals, game strategy, and sportsmanship.
• Evaluate players and manage roster and playing time per program rules.
• Coordinate practices, contests, and travel.
• Promote injury prevention and safe training practices.
• Support student academic achievement and eligibility requirements.
