Job summary

Dallas County is hiring a Training Supervisor to lead detention/residential staff, oversee program training, and ensure regulatory compliance within a secure Dallas facility. The role supervises 21-35 officers and volunteers, conducts staff evaluations, coordinates education/therapeutic activities, and supports emergency responses while maintaining staffing competency and reporting requirements.

This full-time position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of related experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR within 90 days of hire.
• Must be certified as required by facility standards within six months.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver's License with good driving record.
• Must pass a thorough background investigation.
• Mandatory drug testing before employment and during employment.
• Position may require overtime and shift changes.

Responsibilities

• Trains, motivates, evaluates, and supervises staff; assigns work and tracks attendance.
• Develops and evaluates training for staff on daily programs/activities.
• Assumes management responsibilities in the absence of the manager and oversees shifts.
• Makes critical decisions during emergencies and conducts crisis sessions.
• Prepares and files reports and documentation per standards.
• Conducts inspections and searches for contraband as needed.
• Back-up to staff; administers medications and transports youths as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
