Millenniumsoft is seeking a Juvenile Teaching Assistant in La Porte, IN to support the Education Department of a juvenile correctional facility. You will supervise classroom students when the teacher is absent and report to the School Principal, ensuring smooth daily operations and documentation.

Responsibilities include taking attendance, guiding students, maintaining records, and collaborating with staff to maintain a safe, effective learning environment.

Formación

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Must pass all applicable background checks and trainings.
• substitute teaching permit is highly desired.

Responsabilidades

• Take attendance, monitor behavior, track assignments, and maintain daily records
• Guide students in completing assignments left by the classroom teacher and support classroom instruction
• Manage the classroom effectively and supervise daily student work, evaluating individual knowledge achievement
• Participate in faculty and professional meetings, and multidisciplinary treatment team reporting
• Follow critical incident policies to prevent injury, escape, or property damage
• Maintain confidentiality and operate job-related equipment
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance the student learning environment
• Develop and review clear, accurate reports in compliance with departmental policies
• Build positive working relationships with students, staff, contractual personnel, interns, volunteers, and community agencies
• Attend and complete all required training and certifications
• Perform related duties as assigned
