Job summary

Dallas County Votes is seeking a shift supervisor for a juvenile residential facility in Dallas, TX. The role supervises 21-35 staff and ensures program compliance, staffing, and safety in accordance with TJJD and licensing standards.

Responsibilities include training staff, coordinating daily activities, supervising shifts, conducting inspections, reporting, and handling emergencies. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, two years of related experience, and valid Texas driver license with

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and good driving record.
• Must pass an extensive background investigation and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Trains, motivates, evaluates, and supervises residential staff, interns, volunteers and part-timers; issues staff work assignments; and maintains time and attendance records.
• Develops, coordinates, and evaluates daily educational, therapeutic and/or recreational programs/activities.
• Functions in a supervisory capacity and manages shifts, ensuring proper staff-to-client ratios per licensing standards.
• Conducts inspections, drills, searches, and safety procedures when contraband is suspected.
• Prepares reports and documentation in line with standards and policies.
• Makes critical decisions during emergencies and informs supervisors as warranted.
• Back-up to staff including transporting youths, administering medications, processing intake assessments or discharges.
