The Juvenile Division of the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Seattle seeks an enthusiastic attorney committed to justice, integrity, compassion and leadership. The role involves prosecuting juvenile criminal matters, negotiating and trying cases, and engaging in Restorative Justice initiatives to benefit victims and the community.

Selected candidates will work primarily in-person with some telecommuting, reside in Washington state, and be part of a collaborative, equity-focused team

Qualifications

• Experience in criminal law; juvenile/felony filing cases; negotiating and trial experience.
• Ability to file, negotiate and try cases for juvenile criminal matters.
• Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute juvenile criminal matters; file, negotiate and try cases.
• Engage in community outreach and apply Restorative Justice practices.
• Handle a large caseload with regular calendar coverage; some weekend telecommuting.
• Work hours 8:00am–5:00pm; court hours 9:00am–4:30pm.
