Job summary

The Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) in Georgia seeks a Juvenile Program Manager for Hall CSO & HITS in Gainesville. The role supervises staff, guides rehabilitation plans, and coordinates education and employment stipulations for offenders in custody or on probation.

Responsibilities include interviewing offenders, testing for substances, preparing case folders, and testifying as needed. A related degree is required with POST certification within six months.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of job-related experience in a human services delivery setting.
• Or seven years of direct case management experience with offenders and families.
• Two years at the lower level Juv. Probation/Parole Spec 3 or equivalent.
• Possess and maintain POST certification within the first six months.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide subordinate staff and assign work.
• Interview probationers and parolees to evaluate progress and compliance.
• Administer drug and alcohol tests to verify treatment program compliance.
• Prepare and maintain case folders for assigned offenders.
• Discuss factors influencing behavior and recommend rehab actions.
• Testify in court regarding offenders’ backgrounds and recommendations.
• Arrange medical, mental health, or substance abuse services as needed.
• Conduct field supervision and curfew checks for community-based sentences.
