Job summary

The Office of Juvenile Justice in Louisiana seeks a Probation and Parole Officer – Juvenile to supervise and support at-risk youth in a multi-parish region from the Thibodaux Regional Office. You'll maintain ongoing contact with youth and families, conduct risk/needs assessments (including SAVRY), and document ISPs and case histories while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

Three years of corrections or law enforcement experience; or six years in any field; or a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

Coordinate supervision, services, and community resources for adjudicated youth.
Conduct risk and needs assessments to guide supervision levels and intervention strategies.
Maintain ongoing contact with youth, families, and providers to monitor progress and update ISPs.
Serve as secondary case manager for youth in secure care, ensuring continuity of services.
Prepare and submit ISPs, social histories, and related reports.
Facilitate placements by coordinating evaluations and referral packets.
Participate in case reviews, court proceedings, and inter-agency coordination.
Maintain accurate case records and mentor junior staff (PPO 1/2 level).
