Job summary

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in corrections or law enforcement.
• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• Possession of a current Louisiana driver’s license.
• Incumbent must be willing and able to attain POST certification and carry firearms.
• Disqualifications apply for domestic violence or felony convictions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise felony and misdemeanor offenders through counseling, case management, and referrals to community resources.
• Enforce probation and parole conditions by monitoring compliance and handling violations.
• Conduct criminal justice investigations and prepare reports for courts, parole boards, and other decision makers.
• Conduct arrests, transport violators, and participate in hearings.
• Investigate and manage restitution, supervision fees, fines, and other financial obligations.
• Coordinate offender placement in treatment and rehabilitation programs and provide crisis support.
• Administer drug testing and supervise community service activities.
• Assist with jail and contract compliance audits and maintain institutional safety.
