Job summary

CSKT ADULT/JUVENILE PROBATION is hiring a Juvenile Probation Officer in a full-time role on the Flathead Reservation. The successful candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree (Criminology, Social Work, or related) or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and may need to obtain POST certification within 12 months.

A valid driver's license and background checks are required. Responsibilities include 24-hour response to interventions, unbiased supervision of youth, and participation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Criminology, Social Work or related field
• Associate degree + 2 years experience in Sociology, Criminal Justice or related field
• 5 years experience in Social Work, Criminal Justice or related fields
• Must be 21 years of age, no felonies or certain misdemeanors in past year
• Must obtain POST certification within 12 months of hire
• Must pass drug tests/background checks

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests on a 24-hour basis per tribal code
• Conduct professional supervision of youth without bias
• Participate in required trainings and certifications
• Maintain professional conduct under tension or stress
