Job summary

Jackson County is seeking a Juvenile Probation Officer to perform professional case management for youth within the Juvenile Court system and community supervision. The role involves investigations, risk assessments, and coordination with families, schools, and law enforcement to promote public safety and positive youth outcomes.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in criminology or related field and at least three years in criminal justice or social services, plus a valid driver’s license

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminology, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or education and three years of relevant experience.
• Requires possession of a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record; certification within 12 months and CPR/First Aid within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews police reports and investigates cases, conducts risk assessments and interviews with youths, parents, law enforcement, and other stakeholders.
• Prepares detailed court reports, petitions and maintains youth case files; enters data into JJIS.
