Job summary

Candidate Experience site is seeking a Juvenile Probation Officer to manage caseloads of adolescent sex offenders and other juveniles, meeting with families, supervising probationers, and implementing court-ordered plans. The role requires strong communication, crisis intervention, and court testimony as needed.

Responsibilities include collaboration with community-based treatment teams, training, and documentation of progress, with occasional travel and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice, education or related field.
• Alternative: 5 years experience working as a Juvenile Probation Officer.
• Experience with adolescent sex offenders is preferred; group facilitation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain caseload of adolescent sex offenders and other juvenile offenders.
• Meet with families and youth; supervise and counsel probationers as ordered by Court.
• Develop and implement treatment plans; determine risk levels and make recommendations.
• Serve as liaison to community-based sexual behavior treatment teams.
• Attend specialized training; testify in Court when required.
• Prepare reports, motions, and placement checklists; monitor probation compliance.
• Travel to visit youth; attend school meetings; maintain case notes and sanctions.
