Job summary

Umatilla School District seeks a Juvenile Probation Counselor to supervise youth placed on formal or informal probation and to monitor compliance with court dispositions. You will prepare casework, conduct interviews, and report findings to the court.

The role requires a degree in Criminal Justice or Human Services (AA or BA preferred), strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to pass an extensive background check and drug test.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license.
• Physically able to transport youth at all hours.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience using computers.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check with no disqualifying history.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test for safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Supervise youth in the community on Formal and Informal Court Probation.
• Monitor youth and families for compliance with Accountability Agreements or Court Judgments.
• Prepare casework and case plans; assess referrals with Deputy District Attorney.
• Conduct interviews with youth and families; report to the court.
• Represent the youth in court as needed; assist the court with information and support.
