Responsibilities

• Custody, security, and care of youth following DJJ policies and procedures.
• Provide direct support, guidance, and structure for detained youth focused on safety and rehabilitation.
• Complete administrative paperwork and maintain records and reports.
• Inspect and control security equipment to ensure youth safety.
• Maintain order by supervising staff and addressing inappropriate behavior.
• Review youth information to identify issues needing attention; oversee officer performance.
• Shift supervision may be required in the lieutenant’s absence.
