Job summary

The Commonwealth of Kentucky through the Administrative Office of the Courts is seeking a Court Designated Worker in Region 3 (Whitley County) to provide intake, assessment, referral, and case management for youth in Kentucky’s juvenile justice system. The role collaborates with courts, schools, law enforcement and community partners to promote early intervention and reduce unnecessary court involvement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a job-related field such as human services, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or a related field.
• One (1) year of job-related experience, to include working with youth and families, human services, criminal justice, or juvenile justice.
• Two additional years of job-related work experience may substitute for the associate degree.

Responsibilities

• Process juvenile intakes and generate complaints.
• Conduct interviews and complete risk and needs screening.
• Determine eligibility for diversion and develop intervention strategies.
• Develop diversion agreements and monitor compliance with program requirements.
• Provide case management and coordinate referrals to resources and treatment providers.
• Maintain case records and documentation in accordance with laws and policies.
• Prepare reports and other required court documents.
• Communicate with courts, schools, law enforcement, service providers and families.
• Travel within the assigned region and occasionally statewide to attend meetings and trainings.
• Support early intervention efforts to reduce juvenile court involvement.
