Job summary

South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking an Intensive Supervision Officer to supervise juvenile intake, probation, and parole cases with a focus on positive outcomes. You will assess needs, coordinate interventions, and advocate for community resources to support youth and families.

The role emphasizes collaboration, adherence to laws and agency policies, and the use of graduated responses to promote safety and rehabilitation. Training and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a social science required.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and MS Office applications.
• Ability to organize and maintain a caseload across multiple youths and families.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Intensive Supervision Officer for juveniles as assigned.
• Supervise intake, probation and parole cases at moderate or intensive levels.
• Provide comprehensive screening and assessments to identify needs and interventions.
• Develop community partnerships and resources to meet youth needs.
• Promote alternatives to incarceration and evidence-based graduated responses.
• Promote job readiness and restorative justice practices.
• Maintain case files and data entry in JJMS.
• Prepare required reports and stay knowledgeable on cases.
