Qualifications

• Some work experience involving personal computer operation.

Responsibilities

• Control access to the detention facility.
• Screen all people requesting access and log visits.
• Operate and monitor cameras and intercoms.
• Collect, log, and securely store juvenile property.
• Oversee juvenile visitation procedures.
• Track court dockets and prepare juveniles for court.
• Communicate with staff via phone or two-way radios.
• Enter juvenile information from intake to discharge.
• Follow procedures for facility security.
• Execute emergency-management plans when necessary.

Skills

Good verbal and written communication skills

Alphanumeric data-entry skills (min. 35 words per minute)

Ability to provide effective customer service

Ability to make sound decisions

Knowledge of basic computer procedures

Education

High school graduate or equivalent
