Jefferson Parish is seeking a Juvenile Detention Housekeeper at the L. Robert Rivarde Juvenile Detention Center. The role involves daily laundry and housekeeping duties, including washing, drying, folding, and storing clothing and linens for detained youths.

Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform a variety of basic housekeeping and laundry duties in the L. Robert Rivarde Juvenile Detention Center. Work primarily entails the daily washing, drying, folding, storage and inventory of clothing and linens at the center. Handles the care and storage of linens and clothes. Washes, dries, folds and collects linens and clothes. Performs general housekeeping duties such as cleaning, sweeping, etc... Daily collection of all soiled clothing and linens from girls and boys respective areas and from kitchen. Launders juvenile detention home linen and personal clothing of detained juveniles according to set procedure. Folds laundry and returns to designated places. Keeps and maintains a record of clothing and linen inventory, and re-orders supplies as needed. This position is an essential, emergency duty status worker and may not be relieved of duty when the Parish President or their designee recommends a voluntary or mandatory evacuation of Jefferson Parish.
At least six (6) months of work experience involving general housekeeping duties.
