Job summary

The Ohio Department of Youth Services (DYS) in Circleville is seeking a General Activities Therapist 2 to plan, organize and conduct activity programs for youth in residential treatment. You will lead recreational and therapeutic activities, participate in weekly treatment teams, and ensure safety and progress notes are maintained.

The role is full-time, with responsibilities ranging from coordinating activities to supervising youth workers and transporting youth to off-site activities.

Qualifications

• 30 mos. exp. with coaching, personal training, &/or fitness instruction or 30 mos. exp. providing work direction to incarcerated persons.
• Or completion of associate degree in recreation; 12 mos. exp. in activity therapy or recreation.
• Or completion of undergraduate core program in recreation; 6 mos. exp. in activity therapy or recreation.
• Or 6 mos. exp. as General Activities Therapist 1, 44211.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and conduct activity programs for youth.
• Organize and conduct individual and/or group recreational & activity therapy activities.
• Prepare reports and progress notes for inclusion in youth records; coordinate community service projects.
