Job summary

Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court is seeking an Activities Coordinator to oversee youth leisure programs and positive reinforcement at the Detention Center. The role focuses on developing cooperation and sportsmanship while enforcing policies and safety standards.

You will plan free time activities, interact with residents, assist with transportation, and prepare routine reports to describe participation and program outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and minimum age 21.
• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Corrections, or related field preferred.
• Relevant work experience in residential or secured facility is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate free time activities such as games, sports, arts, crafts and events.
• Interact with youth through activities, discussions, and modeling positive behavior.
• Motivate youth to participate in events and maintain order and safety.
• Prepare activity reports describing participation and outcomes.
• Assist with transporting youth to and from activities.
• Supervise visitation and maintain discipline and safety.
