Job summary

Technology Service Corporation (TSC) seeks a Junior Wind Tunnel Engineer to support wind tunnel campaigns at the Naval Research Laboratory. This hands‑on role translates aerodynamic objectives into test procedures and ensures the safe operation of wind tunnel hardware to advance high‑priority Navy missions.

You will assemble and instrument sub‑scale models with strain‑gage balances and flow sensors, develop automated data acquisition routines, monitor real‑time data quality, perform data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an aerodynamic laboratory or testing facility.
• Strong proficiency with data acquisition tools such as LabVIEW.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling software.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and instrument sub‑scale models using strain‑gage balances, pressure scanners, and flow‑visualization sensors.
• Develop automated routines for data acquisition.
• Monitor real‑time data quality during wind tunnel operations.
• Perform reduction and analysis of large experimental datasets.
• Document aerodynamic coefficients used to validate CFD models.
