Job summary

Kalman & Company, Inc. is seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our development team. You will help design, build, test, and maintain web-based applications using C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, and SQL Server, with ExtJS for front-end work.

You will collaborate with senior developers to troubleshoot issues, improve legacy components, and deliver clean, well-documented code while pursuing a security clearance. Eastern time zone alignment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a government-issued Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• 2–6 years of software development experience or equivalent web-tech project work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in writing, testing, and maintaining code for web applications using C# and ASP.NET (4.x or Core).
• Develop and maintain responsive UIs using HTML, JavaScript, and ExtJS components.
• Write and optimize T-SQL queries and interact with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Investigate and resolve application bugs and performance issues with a methodical approach.
• Participate in code reviews, Agile/Scrum ceremonies, and cross-functional discussions.
• Contribute to technical documentation for software modules, APIs, and bug-fix logs.
