Job summary

NC Department of Transportation invites applications for Engineer I in Greenville Project Development. The role supports utility relocations, reviews PDN scopes, and coordinates with Right of Way, design firms, and CEI teams to ensure feasible UBO/UC plans and timely agreements.

The position performs preliminary estimates, assists with project delivery, and communicates with contractors, utilities, and the public. A bachelor's in engineering is required, with PE licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• May require PE licensure by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
• Experience in transportation engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with management of utility relocations and permits.
• Coordinate with Right of Way, CEI teams, and design firms.
• Prepare budgets, estimates, and design plans for UBO/UC.
• Represent the division in public meetings and brief stakeholders.
