Job description

An Uninterruptible Power Supply—or UPS for short—provides uninterrupted power to critical electrical loads. In the event of a power outage, AC power is supplied from batteries via a power electronic inverter. Capacities range from a few hundred watts to systems of several megawatts, for example, for hospitals or data centers. MCE is active in this market and is looking for a Junior UPS Support Engineer.

After an onboarding period and the necessary training, you will be able to independently maintain, repair, and install UPS systems. You will have regular direct contact with customers and possess the necessary administrative, technical, and communication skills. You have a business-minded approach that allows you to understand customer needs and translate them into appropriate solutions.

Duties and responsibilities

• Technical support for customers, either remotely or on-site
• (Administrative) Monitoring of current maintenance contracts
• Visiting customers and preparing maintenance proposals and repair estimates
• Communicating clearly with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
• Assistance from the service help desk as needed
  

Preferably, you have practical experience in this field, but a specific onboarding program will be provided in any case. It is important that you can think pragmatically and solve problems, always keeping the customer at the center of your approach. A good command of Dutch is required to follow safety procedures, etc. Flexibility and a hands-on attitude, on the other hand, are essential.

Profile

• Strong technical skills, typically at the bachelor’s degree level or equivalent through experience and motivation, with a strong interest in electricity, high-voltage systems, and power electronics
• Good knowledge of Dutch
• Knowledge of English is a must; knowledge of French or other languages is a plus
• VCA-VOL; if not available, the employer will provide it
• Solution-oriented and customer-focused thinking
• Sound business sense.
