Delta Dental of Missouri is seeking an Underwriter I to evaluate dental and vision plans, analyze data, and develop pricing recommendations. The role supports rate accuracy, data integrity, and streamlined onboarding via Cortex, with a hybrid work arrangement and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business, Actuarial Science, or a related field is required.
• 0–2 years of underwriting, pricing, benefits, or group insurance-related experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word; familiarity with Access and workflow management systems.
• Ability to interpret benefit plan documents (SPDs/certificates) with developing knowledge of dental and vision plan design features.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Rate development and benefit plan review for routine to limited complexity cases.
• Pricing support and actual-to-expected analysis.
• Group onboarding and implementation workflow execution with Cortex validation.
• Contract and benefit document support for clients.
• Stakeholder collaboration and service delivery across teams.
• Training and team support to improve underwriting processes.
