Delta Dental of Missouri seeks an Underwriter I to underwrite group dental/vision business of routine to limited complexity and develop pricing recommendations. The role analyzes data, reviews plan documents, and ensures rate accuracy and profitability within guidelines.

You'll support Cortex workflows, validate submissions, and collaborate with Account Management and teams to meet client requirements. This is a hybrid role with growth in underwriting and benefit design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of underwriting, pricing, benefits, or group insurance-related experience preferred (or equivalent proficiency).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with Access and workflow management systems preferred.
• Ability to interpret benefit plan documents (SPDs/certificates) with developing knowledge of dental and vision plan design features.

Responsabilités

• Rate Development and Benefit Plan Review for routine/limited complexity cases.
• Pricing Support and Actual-to-Expected analysis and variance identification.
• Group Onboarding & Implementation workflow execution with data integrity checks.
• Contract and Benefit Document support for new and existing clients.
• Stakeholder collaboration and clear underwriting communications.
• Training, development, and team support to ensure continuity and improvements.
